Part #2 How to wipe and format your Android 4.4.2 KitKat device using TWRP

The correct wiping and and formatting

Did you do a backup? If not, please check THIS first.

You can get a flashable Version of TWRP 2.6.3.0-12 for TF101 from here. BUT! The author says, that there is some kind of a bug - which should not be concerning for most users but...Just saying... I couldn't find a bug but read the next paragraph. If you are unsure you may ask in the according thread at xda-developers.com : LINK.
*Use with caution. I haven't really tested any version but 2.6.3.0-3 and -12. Some versions seem edto fail to install SU so... to be sure... to get a flashable SuperSu - just to be sure! If TWRP fails to install su from itself (you will see it if an app wants superuser rights and fails to get it later in rom eG Titanium backup),  flash the SuperSu.zip and then proceed to your ROM again. Problem should be gone..

(Please note that it's your own responsibility to proceed further.
I can't come up for damages and can't always be there with personal advice.
The tutorial may be made on and for TF101 but should work on other devices
and versions too. Be careful. You pay what you destroy!)
Since we now got our apps, data and additional files save, we can go and erease our poor tablets mind. Depending on your ROM, you can now boot your tablet into recovery mode. I can do this from my system menu but others might have to: turn the tablet off, hold volume down, turn back on the tablet and press volume up when prompted to do so.

Here we are. Arrived in the recovery (I use TWRP 2.6.3.0-3), I plug out my external sdcard and my usb devices. Reason: I don't want to accidentally delete my personal files, games, etc... happened already. This is what i might propably see:

Now go into the wipe menu. Here you "Swipe to Factory Reset"and after you enter the
"Advanced Wipe"menu:

It will bring you to this:

Check all boxes (all sdcards / usb storaged unplugged?) and swipe. It will take some time since it is now ereasing almost all of your 16GB int data. When you are done, go one step back in the menu to the factory reset, advanced wipe and format data. This time you chose to "Format Data". Type in "yes" and hit return. Again the tablet will take some time.

The following error is "usual" and can be ignored. (Havent come to do more rechere on it. Maybe later):

You are all done wiping and formatting. MEOW! Time to re-plu the sdcard!
The sdcarded re-inserted you can now navigate back to the homescreen of TWRP and choose to "Reboot" -> system. RIGHT AFTER you hit system, hold volume down and press up again to re-enter the recovery. TWRP will ask you if it should install SU. You surley want to say yes (swipe) here! :>

Hope it helped. Cheers.
You are now ready to install the ROM. You might consider going for part #3 following THIS GUIDE.

  2. Howdy mate,

Do you have a recovery installed yet? If not (but your device is rooted):

#1 Use Goo manager to install it. Get it from the store or the direct link ( http://adf.ly/eMwgu ). Install the TWRP (enter setting and chose to install recovery) and then follow this guide: http://adf.ly/eMp8m

#2 Else you could use this app: http://tinyurl.com/o5l5f4z from xda-developers.com to get CWM to your tablet. There install the TWRP image 2.6. When TWRP installed, follow this guide: http://adf.ly/eMp8m to update it to version -13. Dont ask me please where to get such an TWRP image. Maybe at TWRP? Have a look at the following:

#3 Consider reading this: http://tinyurl.com/o6m9zwd (Official TWRP on TF101)

Cheers. Donate a dime if I didn't waste your time.
